Whitening your teeth can dramatically change your life. Everyone is attracted to a friendly person and a bright healthy smile causes people to want to get to know you better. This is why many people have used over the counter products and teeth whitening systems to brighten their teeth and increase their self-esteem among others.

There are many teeth whitening products on the market, such as dental trays with whitening gels, or whitening strips or even a professional laser teeth whitening (performed by a cosmetic dentist). These whitening products usually contain hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide as the main bleaching agent. However, it is vitally important to maintain your newly white smile by brushing your teeth twice a day with a whitening toothpaste.

It is easier to whiten your teeth when you use a whitening toothpaste on a daily basis. The problem is that most teeth whitening toothpastes such as Aquafresh Extra Fresh Whitening, Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste Guaranteed Freshness, and Rembrandt Plus Fresh Mint Flavor Toothpaste, do not deliver the goods. As you probably figures out, some brands invest more efforts on attractive packaging and clever product names than they do on the active ingredients in the products themselves.

Honestly, it will be unethical (and even misleading) to claim that any whitening toothpaste will actually bleach your teeth. Teeth whitening products do not need FDA approval, and this is exactly why you have to choose wisely.

When choosing the best whitening toothpaste, my considerations were ingredients and active ingredients, safety, texture, taste, effectiveness and price. I have to admit that it was hard to pick up the best one.

Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste is well recommended by dentists. Note that some dentists recommend using it only on weekends and not on a daily basis, because its high potency can harm your tooth enamel. All in all, it is one of the best products to get your teeth whiter. The cool mint flavor leaves you with a fresh feeling for many hours. Cost – $10.25 – 4.7 oz

BriteSmile Toothpaste is a part of complete whitening system, but it can also be used as a standalone product. Britesmile Ultra Brite toothpaste is effective for whitening as well as for cleaning. Its unique formulation which contains baking soda (which helps to prevent bad breath), makes it one of the best whitening toothpastes on the market. You can use it twice a day, and be sure that it will not harm the tooth enamel. Cost – $18.97 – 4.2 oz

Supersmile Professional Whitening Toothpaste is well recommended by the cosmetic dentistry. Its price is quite resonable when it comes to a really great deal. Supersmile toothpaste can be used on veneers, caps, braces an dentures. It contains a proprietry ingredient (Calprox) that breaks down the protein pellicle (which surface stains stick to). Note that Supersmile also conatins peroxide agents. Cost – $15.50 – 4.2 oz

GoSMILE AM & PM Toothpaste Duo is an outstanding teeth whitening system. Its unique kit contains 2 tubes; one for morning, and one for evening. This two-step smile program promises to get your teeth whiter. Personally, I find the  price tag a bit shocking. However, it has aromatherapy benefits, fluoride and naturally hydrated silica, which is great.  Cost – $30 – 3.5 oz (2 tubes).

AP-24 Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste is my favorite option. It can be used every day since it contains special non-peroxide agents which do not harm the enamel, and still brighten and whiten the teeth. The AP-24 helps to remove stubborn stains such as coffee and tobacco stains with its advanced formula. It has a nice vanilla mint flavor and a special fresh-mouth feeling lasts for hours.

The AP-24 is perfect for sensitive teeth. It contains Hydrated Silica and Aluminum Oxide – a propriety blend of mild abrasives that polishes the teeth without eroding the enamel. It also contains Sodium Monofluorophosphate – an improved form of fluoride to fight cavities.

Personally, I’ve noticed considerable brightness in less than 2 weeks. It is worth each and every penny of it’s $11 price tag. 4 oz

You cannot get AP-24 at your local drugstore since it is only sold via authorized distributors. However, you can get it here. I cannot recommend this product strong enough. I just love it and it helps me to achieve tremendous results. For me it is the best whitening toothpaste.
