the whitening kit "White Light" – which works very well by the way- has a blueish gel that has to be spread upon the teeth before activating the white light, what is that gel made out of? I read an article that said that you shouldn’t use tooth paste with whiting gel in it or when you get your braces off it will leave marks.

I use Colgate Toatle Whitening Gel.
If the whitening actually lightens your teeth, it will only whiten the part that’s exposed (ie the parts not covered by the braces). The good thing is that it takes a long time for a noticeable difference to be made by the toothpaste. So, switch toothpaste as soon as the tube runs out! Good luck.
